Bobby Bath, the impressionist

This is my boy Bobby's work. His e-mail to me explained the work:
So the thing is just using hues i guess? light and dark colors with no reference to reality, also trying to break the barrier of similar colors for say the skin, instead of using light blue and dark blue or even purple, using green instead like this girl, of course thats just as close a color relation i guess but wondering about using more confllicting colors on the same section like but not sure if too much contrast will work, probably need to follow some color relationship.  trying what weve talked about with separating the sections.  like the skin is the fill in and the hair is the bold etc.  like this cuz its relatively fast too instead of trying for realism and details, the impressionism is an attractive style for me, it allows me to get away with a little funk.
