Derision

Sadly modern society is abhorred by it, because it goes fundamentally against the conviction that nothing is wrong, no matter how stupid or destructive people should be allowed to do what they want. What the intelligencia elite failed to grasp (ironically) is that it has a very important role in society, it is a tool used to maintain cohesion. Nothing gets one to get his shit together like having folks laugh at him.
