There was a NY Times article yesterday about states proposing drug tests for people who receive public aid benefits.
The story had a sentence in it that beautifully highlights the different mentalities that shape and divide modern society. Here is the sentence:

The implied division there is: are you more worried about tax dollars used correctly, or that the laws derive from awful nasty stereotypes against the poor
States Adding Drug Test As Hurdle For Welfare (politically charged title maybe?)
